x2 Step 130 – Journal Step 129 - My Teachers are with me. I will be with them.

Today: Step 130 - Relationships will come to me when I am prepared. (MP3)

Relationships will come to me when I am prepared. Step 130

WHY STRIVE FOR RELATIONSHIPS IN THE WORLD when genuine relationships will come to you as you are prepared? To understand this, you must have great faith in the power of Knowledge within yourself and within others. As this awareness grows, the basis for your striving and desperate pursuits will fall away, making true peace and accomplishment possible for you.

INDIVIDUALS WILL COME TO YOU through mysterious means because you are cultivating Knowledge. As you have relationships with one another on a personal level, you also have relationships on the level of Knowledge. It is this level that you will begin to experience, in small increments at first. Eventually, if you pursue your preparations appropriately, this experience will grow and become quite profound for you.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEEK FOR RELATIONSHIPS. You need only give yourself to your preparation and have confidence that people will come to you when you need them. This will require that you assess your needs in contrast to your wishes. If your wishes do not represent your genuine needs, then you will confuse your life terribly. You will place a burden upon yourself and upon those with whom you are engaged that can only oppress them, and you as well. Without this oppression, people will be free to come to you as you truly need them.

REMIND YOURSELF OF THIS UPON THE HOUR TODAY, and in your two longer practice periods allow your mind to enter receptivity. Allow yourself to feel the presence of your Teachers. Do not exacerbate yourself with desires for relationship and your requirements for individuals or for what they may possess. Have confidence today that Knowledge will draw all people to you as you truly need them.

PRACTICE 130: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.

12:05 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2000 –

Reading "Living the Way of Knowledge.” My life gets unburdened, simpler – I focus on contribution. Planning will not save the world, nor will futures, but communication will help. I wish to make that visible for regions.

As I read…and thoughts connect…my mind expands, relaxes – and I humbled – for how can it be that I have this message – little me, invisible, hidden me. Not necessarily wise, but such is my goal.

CH 1 – pg. 1 – My purpose was given to me by my Spiritual Family (Sha-Rone) beyond this world.

I am grateful for my life – and have come to be unburdened.

I must develop Wisdom through my experience of being in the world.

I strive to be (1) patient, (2) persistent and honest in my approach.

P. 7 "the foundation is the most important part." – (I could have done better in some areas.)

–Plan-Do set goals, but often I was distracted.

– Character
1. Abiding strength
2. The willingness to wait
3. A focused determination
4. A patient approach
(these I have in my work/life 12/26/00)

<seek to find that which is essential within you> simplify.
The necessary foundation – balanced

1. Their relationships are healthy, focused and purposeful
2. Their health is adequate for them to carry out their purpose in life
3. Their work serves this purpose and expresses it.
4. Their spiritual development enables them to participate in life.

Relationships – p. 18 – It is what you can do with people that is the important thing.

8:07 a.m. I have been unwise in over trusting in relationships. I seek to be more discerning –

I am dedicated to finding Knowledge, increasing the strength of my relationship to Knowledge. If I am patient and discerning, I will find my necessary relationships based on Knowledge.

Assessment of relationships
Family – Mom, Dad, Penny, Diane – the core family – all good,
Lineage – Walter/Regina; Joseph – all-important/Aunts & Uncles
Spirits – Whitman, Thoreau – soul-mates – even perhaps real friends.
David & Sarah gave me humanity
M. E. & Cindy – huge challenges, both directions.

What must I do before I die? Make regions visible as a framework for greater community cooperation, the networking of knowledge and experience. Support the evolution of the Virginia system.

My pillars -
1. relationship – work required, repair connection with knowledge
2. Health – regular exercise – not over eat
3. Work – RI
4. Spirituality – K

Noon – Practice #2 – I am given this time and space to bring on this communication, my contribution, the framework for regional communication, regional community, regional cooperation.

Along with the Steps I am reading Living the Way of Knowledge and working to put that to use, including the pillars practice. It is possible to answer the exercises in your head, but writing them in the journal enables one to review later. My journal writings are not grammatically correct, properly punctuated, capitalized, etc. - and I put them up here mostly as I find them, correcting spelling of course.

I’d had the thought of spiritual families’ years before and on the trail a name came to me. I use it. Let us continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
