x2 Step 127 – Journal Step 126 – Review ~ You are learning to understand how you learn.

Today: Step 127 - Today I will not try to get even with God. (MP3)

Today I will not try to get even with God. Step 127

DO NOT TRY TO GET EVEN WITH GOD by being a miserable person, for God only knows you as part of Creation. Do not try to get even with God by making the world destitute, for God created a world of beauty and opportunity. Do not try to get even with God by refusing to love or accept yourself, for God still knows you as you are. Do not try to get even with God today by ruining your relationships for your own selfish purposes, for God understands your relationships as they truly exist and understands their greater promise as well. You cannot get even with God. You can only harm yourself.

THEREFORE, ACCEPT THAT YOU HAVE LOST THE BATTLE against God. In your defeat is your greatest victory, for God has never lost you, though you have lost God temporarily in your imagination. Your love for God is so profound that you are as yet afraid of it, for it represents the greatest power within you that you can possibly possess. You must learn of this through direct experience. Therefore, do not try to get even with God today by reinforcing an idea about yourself based solely upon error and assumption, for Knowledge is with you. You are the happy victor in your own defeat.

IN YOUR TWO PRACTICE PERIODS TODAY, repeat this idea and then attempt to think about it. Our practices   today will be engaging the mind in exploration and analysis. This is a useful application of your mind. Think about this message and all of your ideas surrounding it, and you will begin to understand your own current belief system. You will be able to understand this objectively. Then, you will be able to work with it, for the mind is fixed in a certain structure until it is utilized for other purposes. Do not accept this structure as your reality, for the outward manifestation of your mind is a structure that you have imposed upon it. Yet, its real inward harmony and nature seek only to be expressed. To enable this to happen you must have an adequate structure in the mind to enable the mind to express itself in the physical world without restraint or distortion. It is towards this, then, that we will work today.

PRACTICE 127: Two 30-minute practice periods

Picture: To get even with God – that is what many want to do. On occasion, we might have had that goal ourselves. Today’s picture is not of a statute representing God, but the traffic cone on the head of this statue is the sort of disrespectful action young people do to be funny. History has not been fair – they want to get even with life and may be carrying anger. Nobody on the street is taking notice. This is from Glasgow, Scotland, September 11, 2004.

Spent time @ Microsoft checking templates. There is so much to learn… I seek the help of others and offer mine.

> Last night I was reviewing ACIM to trying to understand why I'd moved on. I'm not certain that it is complete in my soul – though I did have holy instants and sense that I've gone beyond that with S2K stillness/silence. S2K has a greater promise – that there is Truth – and that it can be experienced. I'm living now with the intent that my PDC work is only prologue and that is the case.

The best part of S2K is that there is no creation story. All views of the universe give one or another creation story. None match. What/Who would have been there to Know it, then to tell it?

Both ACIM & S2K refer souls to Ancient Memories – there is the idea in ACIM that there was a "what if" thought in the mind of spirit that there be physical manifestation and in a flash it happened and the Creator fixed it to return, but yet manifestation still had to play out…and this is it and our soul journey is God's plan for return, but yet manifestation still had to play out…and this is it and our soul journey is God’s plan for return

– so the life strategy is to connect to truth/Knowledge/God and through relationships, work back. Might we be so spirit that we don't need the physical – or is life now permanent – the genie does not go into the bottle, the creation is, and its infinite possibilities play out – collective or individual relationships.

Can I be objective about myself? It is the holy season. Can I be holy? Time I waste on the road, watching movies, silent – ..., browsing books & magazines, drinking Starbucks coffee, eating Christmas cookies and food – reading the newspaper – searching for life? Marking time, looking for hints – ideas, lessons.

Objectively – I don't know. I'm not helping; I'm hurting others – I'm invisible? I'm isolated? I'm a beginning student. I feel progress. I cannot make myself more the world be what I want to be. (Step 126)

On the page I wrote (blue ink - second time) as affirmations: “I am learning to be objective with myself, and this world. I will not attempt to make the world, or myself, what I want it to be.
From this point I can begin genuine contribution.”

You may have already reached this point in your studies, or not. Let us continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
